The clay
animation "Ocean Oasis" was created in the Richardson
Independent School District, Texas by a group of 5th grade
students attending a weeklong summer technology camp. After
attending a field trip to the Omni Max theater to see "Baja
Ocean Oasis", they were charged with the responsibility
of recreating the setting and their choice of creatures they
had seen. A locally produced documentary, "Making of
Ocean Oasis" recounts the process involved in creating
the 150 digital snapshots used for the final claymation movie
featured here. The students creativity in storyboarding, constructing
the characters and using the patient guidance of the sponsors,
Debbie Stallings and Jamie Driskill, was rewarded by the quality
of the finished feature made with MovieWorks.
