Workshop Content/Animation
1.
From Author's main menu, select Scene>New (CTRL/COM-F).
The default name is Scene-3.
2. Locate
and open the Workshop Content/Animation folder and drag
in the files named: Phonograph.jpg, Recording.aif
and RecordSpin.gif. Or, use the Object>Import
menu option to import each of these files individually by
type (e.g. Picture, Sound and Animation).
3. In
the Project window, click once on the RecordSpin.gif image
to highlight it.
4. From
the main menu, select Object>Attributes.

Use the Graphic Mode dropdown menu to select "White
Transp." and click OK.
6.
Click and drag the now transparent RecordSpin.gif image
into position on the Phonograph.
7.
Open the Sequencer, select the Phonograph and RecordSpin
timebars, and click the Snap to End button (sideways T).
8.
Play your Scene. (Click the green arrow on Control Panel
or COM/CTRL-G).
9.Press
the Escape key to exit the Player window.
10.
Select File>Save to save your Project (CTRL/COM-S).
11. You
can export this Scene as a movie, or move on to add syncronized
scrolling text.
12. From
Author's main menu, select Object>Import>Text.
13. Locate
and open the Workshop Content/Animation, select muddywater.txt
and click Open. The text will appear in the Scene using
the last-selected font settings. You can also drag in this
file from its folder location.
14.Select
Text object and use the Font menu option(s) to set the font
to Arial Bold and a size of 12 points. Apply a Shadow (Text>Shadow)
if desired.
15. With
the Text object still selected, click the Color Swatch on
the Main Tools palette to gain access to the color picker.
Set the color of the text to light yellow or almost-white
(but not pure white!) and click OK.
16. Using
the corner handlebars, resize and/or reposition the Text
object to the left side of the Scene.
17. With
the Text object still highlighted, select Text>Scrolling....
18. Set
the Text Scrolling options as desired and click OK. We
checked In, Out, and Bottom to Top (Figure 1).

19. Open
the Sequencer window, select the newly added Text timebar,
and click the Snap to End button. This will automatically
make the Text scroll in sync with the rest of the Scene.
20.Play
your Scene (Click the green arrow on Control Panel or
COM/CTRL-G).
21.Press
the Escape key to exit the Player window.
22.
Select File>Save to save your Project (CTRL/COM-S).
Tip!
If the animation or scroll text appears jerky, increase
the Scene's Frames Per Second by selecting Scene>Attributes
and raising the Frames/Second dropdown menu from 20 to
24 (or 30). Keep in mind that CPU speed can be a factor
when it comes to multiple moving objects. Typically, playback
performance is best when these types of scenes are rendered
and/or exported as a rendered movie.
